Today I went up to Flagstaff, AZ to learn how to snowboard. I had tried it once about 15 years ago, and had no instruction. I basically fell down the mountain all day. This time, I had a buddy from college to give me some pointers. The morning consisted of falling down the mountain while trying to figure out how to break on my toeside and heelside. The afternoon still consisted of falling, but I was able to carve down the mountain for good stretches without falling (baby steps). When it was all said and done, I had a blast and felt muscles that I don’t think that I have used in years. Before leaving, I had to get some kind of shot with some snow. I decided that the birch trees would look cool. Then I decided that putting a little twist in it would be fun. I took around 25 shots and ended up with about six really cool looking ones. This one was closest to what I had pictured in my head, but some of the others seem even more abstract. Keep an eye out for them on my Instagram.
